Hello & Welcome to this years Shimmy Festival and Great Lakeland Shimmy Run...... These events have been created by Claire & Oly Nutton on behalf of Claire's cousin Sean aka 'SHIMMY' who sadly lost his 6 year battle with cancer in November of 2008. During his time with us Sean had a wish granted by 'Rays of Sunshine Childrens Charity' who forefilled his life long dream to go to America. It is in Sean's beautiful memory and in support of 'Rays of Sunshine' childrens charity that we host this event. Thankyou all for your kind support, we hope you enjoy the festivities!!!

breaking News: New Closing Time

Sadly due to an unfortunate illness suffered by the Barking at Butterflies lead singer, they have had to pull out of the event at the last minute. This now means ShimmyFest has a new closing time of 9pm instead of the previously arranged 11pm. Thank you for your support and we all wish a speedy recovery to the BWB team.

News: Thankyou for your support

ShimmyFest are proud to support Rays Of Sunshine Children's Charity. Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity exists to grant the wishes of children who are living with serious or life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3-18 and who live in the United Kingdom. With your help they and their families can experience the joy and excitement of doing something they've only ever dreamt of before. You can help us turn wishes into happy memories by donating at www.raysofsunshine.org.uk or by filling one of the many donation buckets at the festival. Thankyou for your support - the ShimmyFest team.

News: Help keep ShimmyFest Beautiful

Say no to littering!!!
We here at ShimmyFest are very lucky to be have such a stunning location set back in 17 acres of Cumbrian countryside and surrounded on both sides by protected national park forests and the fantastic Lake Windermere (the largest lake in the UK). You can do your bit to help out the environment and keep ShimmyFest as beautiful as when we found it by using the designated bottle bins and recycling areas dotted around the festival site.
